Hooked
I clearly saw the potential in the plot as I was excited upon reading the blurb but when I was actually reading, the excitement was flickering like a dim flame getting smaller and smaller. I wouldn't go as far as to say it was 'bad' book, but more in the perspective of the journey of the book was bumpy and rushed. At first I felt like the book was going too slow, I even posted a status showing my gratification when things started to speed up and get more interesting at around 50%. From that
This book was a very easy and quick read. The storyline was pretty cliché and so were the characters. For this reason I really didn't enjoy it as much as I would've liked to. Even though it was cliché it could've been a better if it was written in a way that complimented the story. In saying this, the writing was pretty young, and because of this the story didn't progress far enough for me. The detail of the writing was quite precise but it wasn't to the point as much as I would've hoped. Most

I would say this is 2.5-3 star read, i am YA reading fan but i found this a bit slow and over discriptive. Also i think its probably for a younger age group. It did get a little better towards the end and as an ok read however i didnt think i would recommond or re-read it
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.Hooked was the first book I'd read by Carrie Thomas, and it won't be the last. I enjoyed this story about trust, kindness, and love. The characters she created will work their way into your heart and stay there.Millie, the main character, was such a sweetheart. She constantly saw the good in other and only wanted to help everyone. Her concern for others was genuine. Cash, her love interest, was a bad boy on the surface. Deep down, he had a good

Millie Diamond is your typical high school senior. She has great parents, a younger brother, and two best friends who round out her better than average life. Her future is planned out, thanks to her police officer father, who strictly enforces the rules with a firm, but loving hand. Millie is a kind-hearted soul and proper daughter who respects her dad's authority...until she meets a mysterious new student who stirs emotions in her she's never felt before. A drug deal gone bad in South Boston, leaves Cash Davis' mother no choice but to move him to Tennessee. His life hasn't been easy, but Cash is tough, and plans on making his future better than his past. Those plans include keeping his head down and finishing high school... but nothing ever comes easy for Cash. His connection with Millie surprises him, and as hard as he tries, he can't stay away from her. Millie's dad arresting him before their first date is definitely not ideal for Cash, and it causes friction between Millie and her parents. Can Millie convince her parents that Cash is the guy for her? Will she still want to after secrets from his past are revealed?Define Regarding Books Hooked

I'm sad for this book. It could and should have been so much better. There's a good story here, and a ton of potential, but bad, bad writing. I'm sorry. I hate to say that. I know authors put time and hard work into the books they write, but I think maybe they also want some real feedback. And I also want to warn anyone else who is curious about buying this book. Where to start...Okay, the writing style is just off. It's written in first person, and the past/present tense of words is constantlyI clearly saw the potential in the plot as I was excited upon reading the blurb but when I was actually reading, the excitement was flickering like a dim flame getting smaller and smaller.
