Yaz was an amazing workhorse of a player. I didn't know much about baseball when I was little in Rhode Island but I heard that the Sawx were in this thing called the world series when I was 11 and that they did not have a chance against The big red machine and Charlie Hustle. Even though the Sawx were famous for losing crucial games the fact that they made it as far as they did was and is an incredible story. 1967 100 to 1 odds of winning the AL pennant and they did it.
