Hildy is doing it for the experience. Paul is doing it for the $40. When the two meet at a psychology study where all they had to do was ask a list of questions and answer honestly, Hildy and Paul didnt expect the relationship they both desperately needed could be found in the other. The Story-So this was pretty unique. Mostly told in the format of Q&A Hildy and Pauls banter is pretty endearing. Unfortunately since the majority of it is in this formatit was like reading someones chat logI loved the multimodal approach including traditional writing, internet messaging, texts, passed notes, as well as comics and images. The constant shifting between presentations kept me engaged, the pace fast, and really encapsulated the many ways in which (young) people are communicating with one another. Given that so much of the text was heavily dialogue dependent I found that my imagination was constantly engaged as I had to envision what was happening between the words. And my favourite
I'm going to be annoying and give this 3.3 stars. The Good, the bad and the fluffy mushy end. This very nearly ended up on my DNF pile simply because of the writing. Outside of the IMs and interview style set up that was used while they asked each other questions, I didn't like the sometimes first/third-person style that was used when Hildie was on her own or inside her head. It felt a little forced and very rough (even for an ARC). But having said that, when she was talking to her friends or Bob

This was a very cute read. I was searching for a good romance to read and I'm lucky I found this one. The characters were very realistic and I think that's one of the qualities that had me like the story so much. How Vicki Grant decided to extend the questions out for so long was genius and I'm so glad I read this.
A story about young love, Incredibly sweet and funny. My heart is full. Amazing
Actual Rating: 1Oh my god. This book had so much potential. So much. But in the end, it flopped terribly for me.This book honestly has such an interesting synopsis. Two people meet during a university psychology study. One is doing it just because. And the other needs the money. The study requires them ask each other thirty-six questions, and maybe at the end, they'll see each other in a new light. But both Paul and Hildy are hiding something, and it'll take more than thirty-six questions to
Here is my video review for an in-depth look at my thoughts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6LQe...I did not like this book. At all.I thought the writing style was juvenile and failed to ground the characters and communicate genuine emotion and growth within them.I thought the characters were flat, cliche, underdeveloped, and oftentimes unnecessary to the plot. And finally, the plot was nearly non-existent, with little innovation and creativity. A brilliant idea with a lot of potential, but
