'Deeper Than Midnight' is thrilling and electrifying. Heart pounding action that consumes you and refuses to let go. I was completely immersed in the Midnight Breeds world. The Order's headquarters is in extreme danger. Something frightening is going on with Chase. Dragos is more insanely dangerous than ever. Corinne, one of the Breedmates the Order rescued recently from Dragos' enslavement, wants to go home to her adopted parents Darkhaven. It will only take a few hours to get her there.I wanted this book to be so much more because I have been obsessed with Hunter from his first appearance, so I'm sorry to say that I was disappointed...The story was sweet and nice but I wanted more from this amazing hero ... I wanted passion, an explosion of emotions, a heroine who would transform him. Well, Corinne was never that. She was this plain and boring girl who never reacted too strong to anything. I just felt like Hunter changed because he got in love with her but not because of her.
I do love a freed assassin who is no longer forced to kill against his will and for the wrong cause. ;)The parallels between what Dragos did to both MC's made for a compelling read. I will say, I wanted more of these two and less POV switches to other characters. That's not something I always mind, as I understand there's a lot of big picture stuff going on in this book, but I felt Hunter's and Corinne's story suffered because of it. Had there been some follow-up in the last chapter regarding

Review: I read the previous book (Taken By Midnight) in 2013 so I was kind of playing catch up while reading this. Adrian recapped all the important stuff throughout the story though so that was handy.Since starting this series I read J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood which is pretty similar to Midnight Breed. I kept getting the storylines and characters mixed up....I'm not sure I'll continue with Midnight Breed but I did enjoy this instalment. There seems to be more focus on the main
5 OMG It's Hunter's Book!! Stars *Spoilers*Deeper Than Midnight was so damn Good! OMG Hunter hands down is my favorite hero in the whole series so far. I just want to lick him all over! I mean OMG seriously he was so dayum yummy and kickass and just all around amazing. A stone cold killer, He thought he had all his emotions beat out of him,until he met Corinne. So excited to finally get Hunter's story. He, more than any of the Breeds, made me feel for him, want him have some measure of happiness to balance what he has already been through. Hunter is a Gen One Breed, born and raised to be a weapon against the Order. He is no longer an enemy, instead an ally and a part, but he is lethal and seemingly emotionless. Particularly in the first chase scene with Murdock and the fight with the assassin, you get to see how genuinely bad ass Hunter really is.
